Frequently asked questions

Your Health Assistant, powered by Included Health, is your all-in-one stop for your healthcare needs.

With Included Health, you have 24/7 access to your personal care team and web and mobile tools for getting help managing your healthcare, finding providers, and leveraging your health benefits. You also have access to a team of world-class doctors you can see virtually (inclusive of primary care and behavioral health), the ability to talk to a registered nurse 24/7, easy access to second expert medical opinions, and support finding high-quality, culturally-affirming  providers within your network for those that identify as  LGBTQ+. Whether you need a new primary care doctor, have questions about a bill, or want to find the right therapist, Included Health is here to help. Included Health brings together carefully-vetted, top-rated providers and specialists, as well as experts in billing, claims, and benefits and are available over the phone, online, and in the Included Health app.

Included Health is HIPPA-compliant, which means your personal health data will not be shared with your employer. Personal information that you provide to Included Health will only be shared under conditions as outlined in their Privacy Policy. For questions related to this policy or to ensure you are accessing the latest version, please contact Included Health directly.

As such, Comcast NBCUniversal will not have access to your personal health information. For purposes of informing program outcomes and strategy, select People Operations individuals will only have access to de-identified reporting data on a need to know basis, such as those responsible for managing vendor or program performance, through secure sharing methods.

All Comcast NBCUniversal employees and their eligible dependents enrolled in an IBX Pay Now/Pay Later or EPO medical plan are eligible for all services. Individuals enrolled in a Tufts EPO medical plan are eligible for all services with the exception of Virtual Primary Care. Individuals medically eligible but not enrolled, or enrolled in a Kaiser or HMSA policy are eligible for telephonic Advocacy support and LGBTQ+ Health.

Employees who are represented by a labor union or guild may or may not be eligible for any or all of the benefits, plans or programs described in this website. The eligibility of union represented employees for these benefits, plans or programs may be governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement(s) and/or subject to collective bargaining.

Your Health Assistant powered by Included Health is provided at no additional cost as part of your Comcast NBCUniversal benefits. Eligible services vary by medical plan. For employees enrolled in an IBX Pay Now/Pay Later medical plan, virtual medical and urgent care visits will cost a $10 copay, unless you are scheduling your annual preventive visit ($0 copay).

Included Health allows you to receive medical care for yourself and your covered dependents. Children under 13 years old will be on the primary benefit holder’s account. Dependents 13 years or older will need to create a separate account that they can use to log in themselves. They can simply visit includedhealth.com/comcastnbcuni and complete the same registration process above using their information.

Our Board Certified clinicians are able to prescribe a wide range of drugs, which can be useful for infections, allergies and other ailments.

Please note that we do not prescribe certain drugs, such as: Narcotics, or pain medications- including Gabapentin, that have been designated as U.S. Controlled substances as a Schedule I, II, III, IV or V drug.  Additionally, state specific limitations exist for pseudoephedrine- which is considered a controlled substance in some states-, abortion inducing medications, ED medications, and muscle relaxants.

Otherwise, many of the prescriptions available in an office setting or urgent care can be prescribed after your  provider deems it appropriate.

Your spouse or domestic partner will need to create a separate account that they can use to log in themselves. Simply visit includedhealth.com/comcastnbcuni and follow the same easy steps above to sign up for their own account.

PLEASE NOTE: If your spouse or domestic partner also has access to Included Health through another source, such as their own employer, they could see a different version of our app. If you experience this issue, please call 1-800-974-8625 to confirm the correct information.

If covered dependents need virtual care and are not able to start or schedule a visit for themselves, the visit needs to be started/scheduled by the main policy holder. For example, if your spouse and child are covered under your plan and your child needs to see an Included Health provider, the primary member (i.e. Comcast NBCUniversal employee) will need to start/schedule a visit under their own account. At this moment, the primary member’s dependents (e.g. spouses and domestic partners) are not able to start/schedule a visit for another dependent (e.g. children). However, your dependent is able to connect with Included Health via the app or by calling 1-800-974-8625, to get help finding care for a dependent if the Comcast NBCUniversal policy holder is not immediately available to set up a virtual care visit. Note that if you previously had a Doctor On Demand account, spouses and domestic partners are able to login to the Doctor On Demand app to schedule a visit for their dependents.

Yes, you will still be able to use the Doctor On Demand app after 1/1/23. However, we recommend downloading the Included Health app or visiting includedhealth.com/comcastnbcuni  to access all of the  virtual care and navigation benefits available to you. Note that when you first login to Included Health, you will be prompted to answer a few questions to merge your Doctor On Demand account with your new Included Health account. In order to complete the linking of your accounts, you will need to confirm ownership of your Doctor On Demand account with a one-time password sent to the email address on file.  However, you can still access virtual care either via Doctor On Demand or Included Health even after completing the account merge process.

Yes, Included Health services are available for children of any age as well, including urgent care, chronic condition management including asthma and allergies, and behavioral healthcare. However, Included Health does not offer pediatric well-child visits because these visits require growth and developmental measurements as well as vaccine administration. Your Health Assistant can find a high-quality pediatrician for in-person well-child visits.

While child dependents 13-18 years old are able to create their own accounts, parents or legal guardians must book any virtual care appointment for children under the age of 18 and will need to be present at the beginning of the visit. To learn more or schedule a visit, visit includedhealth.com/comcastnbcuni. You can also send a message through the Included Health app or by calling 1-800-974-8625.

During your virtual visit, if the provider thinks a lab test would be beneficial for you, they can order a lab test. You simply visit the lab location, have the specimen collected, and the results will be sent to you within ten business days.

After your virtual  visit, your visit summary will include a reminder to schedule your next appointment if your Included Health provider needs to see you regarding your lab results. Your Health Assistant may also contact you to schedule your next visit. The lab results will also be available for you to review under “My Health” in the app.

Virtual care is available to eligible members at no additional cost as part of your Comcast NBCUniversal benefits. In order to schedule an appointment, you are required to provide a form of payment such as a credit card number. This credit card will be charged in the event that you are assessed a late cancellation fee or missed appointment fee as required by law. Note that if you used your FSA to book the appointment and are charged a late cancellation or missed appointment fee, you will need to work with Health Equity to submit payment for the charge directly to them as a missed appointment fee is not an eligible FSA expense.

If your virtual care visit is dropped when you try to start your visit, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

  • You may not have your location services turned on. Please turn on location services on the device you are using to join your virtual care visit. Sharing your location helps Included Health to match you to a provider who is able to practice medicine in the location you are in.
  • You might be connected to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that interferes with identifying your location. Please make sure you are not connected to a VPN when you are ready to join your virtual care visit.

If you are still experiencing issues after disconnecting from a VPN and sharing your location, please contact your Health Assistant using the Included Health app, call us at 1-800-974-8625.

You can schedule online visits with your virtual primary care provider right through the Included Health app. Your Health Assistant can also help you find a primary care provider who will get to know you and work with you to identify which preventive care screenings are recommended for you, based on your health history, age, gender, etc. From annual preventive checkups and personalized care plans to referrals to in-network specialists, your Included Health primary care provider is by your side to help. If you need to see a provider urgently, Included Health will automatically check to see if your primary care provider is available. If for some reason your primary care provider is not immediately available, and you need urgent care, you’ll still have access to 24/7 urgent care with the first available provider.

Online urgent care gives you access to the first available visit with a highly-qualified provider. You can usually see a provider for urgent care within minutes. Included Health providers are available 24/7 to help get you on track as well as order prescriptions, if needed.

Schedule an appointment for the next available provider or with your preferred provider at a time that works for you. Appointments are typically available up to five (5) weeks in advance. You will also be able to filter for providers based on focus areas and read bios and learn about Included Health providers prior to scheduling the visit to ensure you are able to select a provider who is right for you. When it’s time for your visit, you’ll connect face-to-face via video in the Included Health app from your smartphone, tablet, or computer. During the first visit, you will discuss the ongoing visit cadence that will be right for you.

A request can be initiated through the Included Health app or online at includedhealth.com/comcastnbcuni where you’ll be prompted to sign a consent form to collect medical records and proceed with the expert review. A physician or care team member will reach out to discuss your request after the consent form is signed. As soon as medical records are collected, the expert will review the records and after completing their review, you will receive a written report, which will include the expert’s medical opinion on your diagnosis and treatment plan and an electronic copy of any medical records collected.

You can request a second expert medical opinion through the Included Health app or online. Here’s what to expect after submitting a request:

  1. Sign a consent form to collect your medical records.
  2. A care team member will reach out to discuss your request and make sure we have everything we need to get started.
  3. Once we have collected your medical records, an expert will review your case.
  4. A written report will be created, which will include the expert’s medical opinion on your diagnosis and treatment plan and an electronic copy of any medical records collected.

Your Health Assistant will be available to help you with any questions you might have about your expert medical opinion and will help you with any steps you might need to take to get the right care.

Included Health offers personalized support to help our LGBTQ+ members find compassionate affirming care. We match every member with a dedicated care coordinator from our queer- and trans-led team. Call or chat with your LGBTQ+ care team for answers to all your healthcare questions such as:

  • What’s covered by my plan?
  • I recently moved. How can I find a provider who understands my needs?
  • Can you connect me with an OB/GYN who will use my correct pronouns?
  • Can you get me an appointment with a top cardiologist?
  • I’m looking for an OB/GYN and Fertility Specialist who is friendly to the community. Where should I start if I’m planning to start or extend my family?
  • Can you help me with transportation logistics to my appointment?

Not sure what to ask? Your LGBTQ+ care team will get to know your healthcare needs and can help you discover new questions to ask and how to make sure you get all the information you need to find a provider with experience in gender-affirming care.

When searching for providers using Included Health, you will only see in-network providers as default. As provider networks can change regularly, Included Health suggests checking with the provider when members schedule the visit to confirm network status.

If you select “my insurance is not listed” in the self-serve tool, Included Health will show all relevant providers based on quality and location, including those who are out of network.

Your care team can also help you find a provider, including finding in- or out-of-network providers based on your unique needs. For more detail and to get started contact your dedicated Health Assistant by visiting includedhealth.com/comcastnbcuni or calling 1-800-974-8625.

The last four digits of your SSN are needed to confirm both your identity eligibility when creating an account for Included Health. If unable to provide this information, you may also use your health insurance member ID.

To make you aware of the services available to you and provide timely updates on open cases or services, Included Health may contact you from time to time using a variety of methods including, but not limited to email and/or direct mail, telephone, instant messaging via the Included Health app, and SMS. You have the option to opt-out of certain non-essential communications. Specific instructions on how to opt-out will be provided within our communications, or you can request to opt-out by connecting with your Health Assistant by sending them a message in the Included Health app.
